A high profile company looking for an ambitious team member to look after their Back End Web Development …. come and join their highly entrepreneurial, hardworking people with a passion for their product.

You'll be a user-friendly developer who wants to engineer great on-line experiences for consumers. Adapting well-crafted code that applies coding standards and best practice which is functional, maintainable and future-proofed. You are committed to agile development methodologies and open source principles and actively participate in the relevant tech communities to build your knowledgebase and drive up standards.

Key Areas in Order of Priority:

Day to Day Development:

Well-designed code in line with industry best practices that are:

  • rigorously tested
  • bug free (it's an aspiration not a requirement)
  • modular and well structured
  • clearly commented/documented
  • maintainable

Design and develop technical solutions that are:

  • designed around templates and company design standards to maximise re-use and flexibility
  • scalable

Understanding and applying an agile development approach

Task board management:

  • WIP management
  • clear status reporting
  • proactive issue escalation and resolution

Accurate scoping and estimation of all technical tasks and projects

Ensure you deliver your work in line with the brief expectation on time

Improvements and optimisation:

  • mentor junior members of staff
  • apply security best practices
  • minimise personal productivity and efficiency

Personal Development:

  • keep abreast of new developments, platforms and technologies in the world of development in relation to content marketing and share best practices with internal teams

Skills & experience:


Experience building and developing microsites and ecommerce websites

Experience in:

  • WordPress API/Plugin development
  • PHP/PHP Unit
  • OOP Syntax
  • REST API consumption
  • Good javascript knowledge
  • Composer
  • Behat
  • ecommerce platform e.g. Magento, Woocommerce
  • Git Version Control

Experience of building scalable rest API's

Analytical and logical approach

A 'right first time' mindset and constant focus on reducing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and 'technical debt' within the code base

Disciplined and rigorous coder obsessed with clean, well structured, marked up code

Hungry to learn and improve and continually apply new methods, tools and techniques

Constantly looking for better ways of doing things and continual improvement of our sites

Completer finisher mindset with a good attention to detail

Good time manager

Possess a proven ability to work within a changing and fast paced team

Confident, self-motivated with the ability to build and develop relationships externally and internally
