Our client a leader within its field is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to retain and develop key accounts across the South West of England.  This is a unique opportunity to join an ambitious team of highly entrepreneurial, hardworking people with a passion for sport.

Your role will be to manage all aspect of the sales processing including:

  • Lead generation
  • Achieving sales targets
  • Servicing accounts
  • Retaining and developing key accounts
  • Ensuring payments are up to date

You will also be responsible for Customer Relationship including:

  • Achieving annual sales and profit margin targets
  • Pro-actively targeting new business – working closely with the eCommerce/Marketing Department
  • Managing effective communication from the business to the customer
  • Working closely with the Customer Service and Finance Teams to ensure the smooth processing of orders
  • Customer liaison; managing the day to day relationship with the customer in an efficient and time-effective manner, ensuring customers fully understand the constraints of the business and managing expectations accordingly (lead times, design requirements, use of web order tools etc)
  • Inter-department liaison; ensuring the business understands customer requirements
  • Using Salesforce to maximise personal effectiveness and keep the business updated with key account information
  • To act in the appropriate manner as the ‘front face’ of the business

Skills and Expertise:

  • The successful candidate will have significant sales experience within a field sales role, ideally within sport
  • Possess a proven ability to work within a changing and fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate an appreciation of the customers’ perspective of the sales process
  • Has the ability to be a proactive and solutions-driven individual who can manage their own workload and time to get the job done
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise at all levels with internal and external colleagues
  • A highly self-motivated team player with great enthusiasm and energy who can thrive in a results-driven environment
  • Creativity and ability to think out of the box
  • Detail-oriented, resourceful and self-motivated
  • PC Literate with strong skills in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Driving licence essential
