Buyer – Childrenswear (Manchester)
Currently recruiting for a Childrenswear Buyer for one of Manchester’s fastest-growing fashion brands.
Joining an organised team collaborating to design, source and manufacture the most adorable childrenswear ranges.
The successful candidate will be experienced in a similar role, with a keen interest in fashion and children's wear experience.
The Role:
- Take control of the sourcing, development and selection of product in line with strategy and plan.
- Support and input into team objectives to build ranges through competitor benchmarking, market data and trend direction.
- Review sales and product performance and initiate proposals to drive sales and improve profitability.
- Build & maintain professional working relationships with suppliers both UK based & overseas.
- Work effectively with internal colleagues such as Product Developers, Merchandisers & Garment Technologists as well as external suppliers to meet the critical path deadlines.
Requirements
- 2+ years childrenswear fashion buying experience
- Eye for selecting ecommerce/photoshoot images
- Open minded – happy to get involved in all aspects of the job, from negotiating prices to samples for the studio, to working across various ranges
- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the buying process for development (sourcing in Asia & Europe)
- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the shipping process
- Strong organisational skills with proven ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Good numerical and analytical skills
- A very keen interest in fashion trends
