Our client based in Milton Keynes is looking to recruit a Logistics Compliance Officer on a permanent basis...

This role is a new role for the business supporting the Logistics Manager with the implementation of new processes and procedures.

  • To liaise internally to ensure we have current and correct data on our systems for HMRC etc. reporting
  • To complete any necessary HMRC reports.
  • To liaise with Compliance to ensure that the logistics team processes are current and are being followed.
  • Use the available systems to monitor that duty rates are current and correct.
  • To ensure that the duty entered by our freight forwarders is correct.
  • Complete environmental compliance reports, sit in on Sustainability meetings, and work with the team on new initiatives
  • Take ownership of ensuring compliance for HMRC reporting with the help of the Branch Logistics Manager.
  • To deputise for the Branch Logistics Manager on Security Export Control.
  • Create routine reports on compliance issues.
  • Investigate specific incidents as required and recommend corrective or remedial actions.
  • Identify continuous improvement areas, develop improvement ideas and follow them through to completion.
  • To monitor the logistics team compliance to our internal processes and gather evidence as required for auditors/the compliance team.
  • Contribute to a positive, high quality service culture within the Logistics Department.

Requirements

  • Team player with a very robust, cheerful, and positive attitude.
  • Experience of working in a logistics role, preferably with import/export experience, is desirable.
  • Resilient and robust: a fundamental part of this role is to liaise with the wider businesses that may not see this as a priority.
  • Ability to work consistently to high standards and contribute to the continuous improvement culture.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, initiative and attention to detail.
  • Able to work in a busy, results focused environment and able to prioritise workload effectively.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, but ultimately a practical, common-sensical attitude.

 

Hours: 9am - 5pm Mon - Fri

Agile working 3 days office based, 2 days working from home
