We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Demand Planner to help progress this growing Fashion business based in Bolton.

Position Summary

As Demand Planner you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining the supply and demand of inventory
  • Ensuring adequate stocks are available
  • Stock purchasing, delivery and shipping confirmations
  • Managing inventory balances
  • To be the interface between Stock Control, Sales, Merchandising and Fulfilment Team
  • To proactively communicate and liaise with the Sale Team on their stock requests’ progress, as well as tracking the stock with the aim of always delivering to customers on time.

Essential Functions

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the management, purchase and replenishment of goods to ensure the maintenance of stock levels
  • Maintaining accurate records of inventory and stock management systems
  • Develop inventory control models that promote shorter lead times and reduced stock levels
  • Forecast supply and demand to ensure continuity of supply chain
  • Assess supply chains to identify risks and develop solutions to minimise these risks
  • Oversee the placing of orders to ensure goods are delivered on time
  • Ensure purchase inventory is within specified budgets
  • Communicate with suppliers to maintain good working relationships that foster easy procurement of goods
  • Oversee and ensure the functionality of the stock control systems
  • Carry out stock management operations in line with set policies and procedures
  • Oversee the maintenance of the warehouse to ensure proper arrangement of stock
  • Update the daily upload of stock from their third-party warehouse
  • Action stock discrepancies with suppliers
  • Assist in monthly stock reconciliation with third party logistics
  • Producing monthly reporting within Excel & WMS

Skills and Expertise

  • Demonstrate the ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Excellent computer skills including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Ambitious, hungry and looking to be in a role that will grow and develop over time
  • Periodic travel to Europe and the Far East
  • Exhibit the ability to develop strong working relationships with internal and external colleagues
  • Creativity and ability to think out of the box
  • Detail-oriented, resourceful, self-motivated and proactive
  • Proven ability to work independently and multi-task
  • Experience of working within a Fashion or similar business
