Finance Assistant

Manchester, Part-time (20 hours per week), 6-month fixed term

As the Finance Assistant, you will have the unique opportunity to join a growing business and build dynamic systems that support the businesses development in one of the fastest progressing companies in Manchester.

Reporting to and working closely with the key Executives, you will have the opportunity to build upon the strong foundations of the organisation while supporting the drive to become stronger within their sector. The role will be varied and will require a high level of attention to detail to ensure that all the key facets are considered.

        Responsibilities:

  • Support day to day finance activities such as:
    • bookkeeping
    • bank reconciliation
    • invoicing & daily sales order reporting
    • credit control
    • accounts mailbox management
    • completion of procurement forms
  • Liaise with external finance team as required
  • Deal with finance-related client and supplier communication & updates
  • Assist with maintaining data on CRM and processing of timesheets where required
  • Complete client procurement finance requirements
  • Identify ways to improve business processes and feeding back to the team
  • Ad-hoc tasks as required to support the needs of the business

       Skills:

  • Previous relevant experience in a role successfully balancing a broad range of tasks with a focus in finance
  • Effective communication skills with experience working within a proactive and customer service focused environment
  • Strong IT skills with the ability to adapt to new systems quickly
  • A proactive, flexible and self-reliant individual with a can-do attitude and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills
  • Attention to detail with the ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Technical systems knowledge:

  • Xero (essential)
  • Microsoft Office, with a good level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
