Our client based in Trafford Park is looking to recruit a Shift Manager on a permanent basis...

Hours: Monday – Friday, 6 am – 2.30 pm,  40 hours per week

The role is to create, lead and develop a Morning Shift that is blending, manufacturing, and packing products. Controlling all activities within their control to ensure a safe, compliant, and productive operation.


  • To ensure the safe working of all processes and staff, compliant with RA’s and SOP’s.  To resolve and/or escalate any safety issues and to effectively investigate any safety accidents or incidents on shift.
  • To ensure that all standards, people, processes, materials, products, documentation, communication, and escalation are compliant with business required quality standards.
  •  To ensure that the shift is sufficiently resourced with correctly trained and motivated staff, delivering designated output within a constructive culture and through people development.  To ensure that the Company’s People Policies and Procedures are implemented consistently and effectively, recognising that our people are our biggest asset.
  •  To deliver the required Production Plan with product and throughputs of the required standard, understanding and correcting causes of downtime, resolving problems, and seeking to continuously improve performance.  To complete all performance documentation, reporting, and escalating any issues.  Ensure that the shift is sufficiently resourced with materials and that the following shift is prepared.
  • To fully utilise all resources in the most cost-effective way including the control and targeted reduction of all wastes.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in Shift Management with a good knowledge of standards, processes, legislation, and people management within a Food Manufacturing environment – minimum 3 years’ experience essential.
  • An engaging, open, and honest management style with good communication to all levels of staff.
  • Results-focused, achieved through the implementation of standards and control of people, processes, materials, and equipment
  • A demonstrable record of people development and process improvement.
  • A positive and can-do attitude
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
