Our client based in Trafford Park is looking to recruit a Shift Manager on a permanent basis...

Hours: Monday – Friday, 6 am – 2.30 pm,  40 hours per week

 

Looking for an experienced Morning Shift Manager to create, lead and develop a Morning Shift that is blending, manufacturing, and packing products. 

Strategy and Development

  • Identify business improvement opportunities within the organisation.

  • Redefine and lead a Safe working culture where blended operations is the norm, accelerating and embedding a skillset and attitudes migration to multi-skilling and dynamic resource scheduling.

  • Develop and embed an effective and positive continuous improvement culture that raises standards and expectations of greater flexibility and sustained pace.

General and Task Management

  • Responsible for plant production, financial performance, meeting work demands and maintaining the orderly and productive operation of planned activities

  • Ensure the target productivity level is achieved on a daily basis

  • Drive process improvements Line Efficiencies by appropriate data analysis

  • Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff

  • Ensure the factory operates at optimum levels of cost and effectiveness with emphasis on wastage of resources and raw materials.

People Management

  • Manage, motivate, coach, and develop a high performing manufacturing team that meets agreed objectives, and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements

  • Set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports

  • Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems

  • Support managers in development and ensuring that manpower levels, overtime working etc are effectively controlled within operational demands.

  • Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviours expected of them

  • Develop, implement, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility

Suitable Candidates will have: -

  • Experience of leading and directing successful operational change with food FMCG

  • Strategic experience in developing and shaping operations

  • Experience in leading and managing teams

  • Expertise in leading, implementing and developing site relevant processes

  • A good knowledge of relevant UK legislations in independent accreditations such as BRC, GMP and Retailer Standards

  • Experience in food hygiene and health and safety standards

  • Experience of HACCP principles

  • Level 3 in Food Manufacturing or equivalent

  • Desirable:  ISOH Managing Safely or equivalent
