What do great Managers do differently?

As a recruiter, I often find myself asking the question: what do great managers do differently? It's clear that some managers are more successful than others, but what sets them apart? 

In my experience, great managers have three key traits: they put their team first, they empower their people, and they're willing to take risks. Great managers prioritise their team's success and well-being, providing them with the resources and feedback they need to do their job well. They also empower their people to make decisions and take ownership of their work, while still providing guidance and support. Finally, great managers are willing to take risks and try new things, even if it means stepping outside of their comfort zone.
